Performance and video artist Mila Hundertmark creates a newly commissioned work, featuring performers from San Antonio. Hundertmark’s works deal with power, society, and the individual. This exhibition deals with the subject of decisions and engages each viewer as participant, confronting them as the enter the installation.
Mila Hundertmark completed her studies in media art at the Bauhaus University Weimar in 2012, and in 2014/15 she was a scholarship holder of the Graduate Scholarship / Equal Opportunity. With her work “Failure is not an option.” She is part of the touring exhibition “Your Skin Makes Me Cry – New Video Art from Germany” by the Goethe-Institute. She has been featured in exhibitions and performances in the Kunsthalle Darmstadt, at the Akademie der Künste Berlin, at the MIT Boston, in the Natural History Museum Vienna, in the WDR Cologne, in the Academy of Sciences and Literature Mainz, at the ZKM Karlsruhe, at the Ballhaus Ost Berlin, in the Gallery Alternative Space Loop Seoul, Korea and in the Kuandu Museum Taipei, Taiwan, and more. In celebration of San Antonio’s newest sister city, Darmstadt, Germany, BSC in collaboration with the Lone Star Art Alliance and the City of Darmstadt are excited to present this new project by Hundertmark.
