Centro Cultural Aztlan hosts its 26th Annual SUPERHERO contest and exhibit. This exhibit is open to any students 5 to 18 years of age, from kinder to high school. We ask students to identify a positive role model in their lives and create a drawing, illustration, painting, or sculpture of their Superhero. The key word and subject of this contest is “Super Heroes”, who the students consider as positive role models in their school, community, or home. Special attention will be given to creativity and originality on the subject.
Artwork is open to any media. All the artwork entered will be displayed in our Galleria Expresión, where the young artists will proudly be featured in a real gallery setting. Participating schools include: Blattman Elementary, Brauchle Elementary, Legacy Middle School, Losoya Intermediate, IDEA Academy, East Central High School, Columbia Heights Elementary, Timberwilde Elementary, Heritage Middle School, Bonham Academy, Oak Crest Intermediate and Beach House Art School.
An award presentation and reception will be held on Saturday May 5, from noon-3 p.m. Students, parents, teachers, and public are all invited to attend.
