Martín C. Rodríguez’s exhibition Acquisition of Unwarranted Influence is an exploration of identity in objects and performance. As a first generation mainland Puerto Rican, Rodríguez has been connecting with his heritage through performance and multidisciplinary work incorporating his indigenous past.
Rodríguez’s exhibition at Terminal 136 is opened in tandem with fellow San Antonio artist Verena Gaudy’s exhibition Of Bombs and Men. In the exhibition Gaudy addresses humankind's distinct potentials: creation and destruction. With clay being her chosen medium, she creates conceptual fields of conflict and war with abstracted artifacts. Of Bombs and Men opens at FL!GHT Gallery, Terminal 136’s neighbor in the Blue Star Arts complex.
