Austin Baroque Orchestra & Chorus begins its eight concert season with a celebration of the 300th anniversary of the founding of New Orleans! Some of the most sumptuous, grand, and beautiful music originated from the courts of the Bourbon kings of France, particularly the last three of the dynasty: Louis XIV, his great-grandson Louis XV, and his grandson, the ill-fated Louis XVI. We’ll present beautiful choral music, orchestral selections, and operatic excerpts from seventeenth- and eighteenth- century France and Louisiana.
