Three-time Grammy Award-nominee Kayhan Kalhor, the world’s preeminent master of the kamancheh (four-stringed upright Persian fiddle), performs with Brooklyn Rider, the innovative string quartet praised for its “Beethoven-goes-indie foray into making classical music accessible but also celebrating why it was good in the first place” (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette). Brooklyn Rider consists of Johnny Gandelsman on violin, Colin Jacobsen on violin, Nicholas Cords on viola and Michael Nicolas on cello.
The performance is part of the 6th annual International Music Festival from March 22-31. All performances are free. A full schedule of performances is available online.
