Ballet Latino de San Antonio (BLSA) is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 professional ballet company that was created by Artistic Director, Mayra Worthen, to ignite interest in this art form by presenting classically trained dancers who perform in characteristically Latin rhythms and flavors. Not only is BLSA concentrating on bringing Hispanics the delight of its various cultures, but it is endeavoring to educate non-Hispanics in the fascination of the passionate movements that are inspired by the Latin culture, and also presenting selected classics with a twist.
