"Love is Never Lost" by Austin based artist team Legge Lewis Legge; Murray Legge, Deborah Eve Lewis, and Andrea Legge; is inspired by the namesake of the nearby Washington Irving Middle School. Washington Irving is an American short story writer, essayist, biographer, historian, anddiplomat, famous for the phrase "Love is Never Lost". The installation is created by a special steel tab system that beautifies the fence with color and imagery. The tabs create a landscape that changes densities from invisible to opaque allowing the words "Love is never lost" to emerge depending the vantage point of the viewer. "Love is never lost. If not reciprocated, it will flow back and soften and purify the heart."
