Bloom is a permanent public artwork located at Southside Lions Park. Inspired by trail users and nearby native flora, San Antonio artist Leticia Huerta created the original Bloom installation at McAllister Park in Council District 10. The expanded Bloom series sees native wildflowers turned into sculptures with components that resemble larger-than-life bicycle parts. Shrubby Boneset, Pink Evening Primrose and Turk’s Cap are depicted here, while other flowers are “planted” along the Howard W. Peak Greenway Trail System across San Antonio.
