Alas de México (Wings of Mexico)

The art invites viewers to become part of the artwork by standing on a raised pedestal between two large bronze wings

Alas de México (Wings of Mexico) was created by renowned Mexican artist Jorge Marín, and gifted in celebration of San Antonio’s Tricentennial from Mexico City. It can be found near the base of the Tower of the Americas, in Hemisfair Park. The bronze wings, which are an an international symbol for freedom and liberty, invites viewers to become part of the artwork by standing on a raised pedestal.
