Gwangju Pavilion

This authentic Korean Pavilion is located in Denman Estate Park, a place of quiet reprieve just minutes from San Antonio’s bustling I-10 corridor. The Pavilion was a gift from San Antonio’s Sister City of Gwangju, South Korea. Gwangju has been a Sister City to San Antonio since 1982 and is venerated as a cradle of South Korean democracy. This stunning Pavilion was assembled by a team of Korean craftsmen using traditional construction methods, which means that no nails were used in the entire Pavilion. Few authentic Pavilions such as this one exist in the United States, and it draws visitors from around the country.
