Stone Oak Shadows

The benches are comprised of large slabs of polished wood with a bright colored metal cutout on one end.

“Stone Oak Shadows” by San Antonio artist Peter Zubiate is a series of benches around the grounds of the Parman Branch Library. The benches are comprised of large slabs of reclaimed wood with a brightly colored metal cutout on one end. The metal cutout mimics the shapes of the trees that the wood was taken from, while the wooden bench becomes a large “trunk.” Additionally, there is an installation inside the library comprised of several metal cutouts layered upon each other creating a forest-like scene.
