The Vibrant Village

“The Vibrant Village” by San Antonio artist Joan Fabian is a public artwork featuring a series of collaged paintings at City Tower in downtown San Antonio. The artwork embodies the energy of San Antonio and depicts iconic landmarks and City departments, representing the important role of community in government. The San Fernando Cathedral, Tower of the Americas, and the Alamo can be found amongst the vibrantly abstract San Antonio landscape of playful passageways and thoroughfares. Symbolically, yellow bumble bees busily buzz about imagery of the sky and lush plant life that speaks to the City’s collaborative spirit. Fabian captures the dynamism and rhythm that makes our “village” unique, through bursts of expressive color to welcome visitors and employees alike to City Tower.
