Spirit Waters Art Gallery, located in San Antonio, is the city’s first permanent Native American art gallery, dedicated to showcasing the rich cultural heritage and artistic expressions of Indigenous peoples. The gallery offers a dynamic space where Native American artists can exhibit their work, ranging from traditional crafts to contemporary art forms.
In addition to its rotating art exhibitions, Spirit Waters hosts a variety of public workshops led by master artists, such as loom weaving, basketry, storytelling, and drumming. These workshops empower participants by connecting them to indigenous practices and fostering a sense of community.
The gallery is also a hub for cultural preservation, producing videos of Native American storytelling and shared experiences, which serve as both entertainment and a historical archive of teachings and wisdom for future generations.
