Beth is a photographer currently living in San Antonio, TX, but was born and raised in Southern Louisiana. She moved to Texas in 2010 to pursue her MFA in photography at UTSA after graduating with a BA in photo from McNeese State University in her hometown of Lake Charles, LA. Loving words, but struggling to use them to communicate deep emotions at a young age, Beth began exploring how to work through emotions and traumas using a lens at the age of 17 when she stumbled into her first photography course at McNeese. She began using objects and staged scenes to capture the essence of topics she had a lack of words for and instead embodied them visually – literally setting the stage and scene to mimic her internal landscape. Beth often uses common and recognizable things with a touch of atmosphere to give them gravity and make them relatable to any viewer who might stumble into her visual narrative.
