I am a San Antonio-based artist dealing mostly in oil painting and drawing. Right now, my work is deeply entwined with certain aspects of local and statewide history I’ve been researching for other projects. Often related to mystical or unconventional phenomena, the things I’ve learned about Texas state art history have inspired me greatly to create a codex of imagery that seems to exist in continuous threads across generations and specific sites.

Artist Statement of Work

Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):

I primarily work in oils. I like objects and places and the way human interaction shapes the way we view them. My subject matter feels concerned with that- I believe there will be a time where I move back towards my interest in people and their physicality, but right now, I am interested in the areas surrounding them. I want my paintings to work for me as a log of objects, places, areas, etc. that I find seem charged with the energy of human activity and love.
