Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):
"Looking at the sunrise through the window in my garage ..." So begins the forthcoming album from singer/songwriter Jack Mitts. The lyrics reflect both the product and the process of a deliberate practice of early morning writing sessions. It's a different kind of garage rock, quieter and fueled by caffeine, before the day breaks and the rush of life begins. This practice has born songs with specificity and humor, offering a fresh take on familiar forms. Lyrically, they make connections between disparate subjects: past and present, recovery and loss, substance and space. They are arranged in a careful but playful style, intended to resonate with and surprise the listener.
