While growing up I never really felt compelled by or held any significant interests towards drawing, painting or holding the title of “Artist” but my natural talents in creativity, design and the need to transform and maintain the surroundings of  my loved ones as well as my own into aesthetically pleasing, uplifting, invigorating,  motivational, captivating, influential and entertaining environments seemed to always gravitate me into the Art world and towards other artists.  For most of my life I never considered that the multi-media visual displays, my cement or wood crafted creations, my “DIY” home decor, or the gifts that I hand crafted for my loved ones, of which were derived from the tokens of appreciation and affections that lay in the deepest parts of my heart, my soul, my entire being, would  be labeled as pieces of art but as the decades have passed and through practice, perseverance, peer encouragement, praise, through having a mentality unwavering from breaking down boundaries, limits and preconceived notions of impossibilities and capabilities have I arrived at a point in my life and within myself deserving enough to be able to self-proclaim myself an “Artist.”

Artist Statement of Work

Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):

Everything I create holds profound significance, deep reflections, metaphoric and literal symbolism, more often than not contain one or more visual perceptions  (possibly even illusions) that will only make their presence known to the correct onlooker at the proper moment in time.  I create many multi-media visual displays, sketch portraits, drawings and inner thoughts.  I also create cement and wood worked statues.  I try to encompass as much versatility as to allow all I do to be relatable to as many people as it possibly can.  Many pieces have been influenced by influence of others, interactions, life, love and encompass a purpose or a message.  When the day comes that I will no longer be here on this Earth all I can hope for is to have had a positive effect or influence on the lives of as many people as I possibly could have, that, to me, would equal to a fulfilled life.  As human beings we will never be able to achieve perfection, therefore, the best thing we can do is to attempt to become a better person each and every day.
