I am a local artist with a deep-rooted passion for cinema and desire to tell challenging, emotionally dense narratives. As far back as I could remember, I always wanted to tell stories through whatever medium best served me. As a child, I performed on stage in various productions and even got published in a book of short poems. However, my passion has always been within writing and film. Even as a child, I tackled concepts that grew more and more ambitious through design and execution and, upon completion, would review my work, critique it, and learn from it. I have made numerous student projects, independent shorts, and one proof of concept, which became the basis for my first feature-length film, Maverick.   For the past two years, I have closely collaborated with Machina Productions and TRL Productions on numerous sets and nonprofit events. Artist Statement of Work

Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):

Film is a medium that offers a mirror into our soul. It reflects our secrets, our passions, and our longing. Every work of art affects someone in a dynamically unique way that is specific to the person. A truly remarkable story tethers an audience to the character's emotional journey and, in turn, sparks a newfound understanding of themselves.  I use film to reflect the universal linking events that define us and, in turn, spark a greater perception of what it means to be human, flawed, and alive. The embarrassing, absurd, humorous, and heartbreaking moments that affect all of us serve as my central template for the art I create. Above all else, I attempt to be authentic and subtle with my work, balancing a humorous tone with introspective drama. My art is grounded in reality as it is inspired by the testimonies of strangers and those closest to me. In the words of the great Martin Scorsese, the most personal is the most creative, and I hold this quote dear to my heart.
