Cinderlla

Wanting to deliver a magical experience where people of all ages could be enthralled moved us to dance the tale of Cinderella.

Strongly associated with the tale of Cinderella is the age old idiom “Happily Ever After”. However, there is so much more to this story than the ending. In this new retelling, set to the spellbinding score of Prokofiev, we are shown that when we approach the world with perseverance, courage, grace, patience, kindness and love, wonderful things can prosper. Through Cinderella’s adventures we are taken on an emotional journey which reminds us that the road to happiness is sometimes paved with adversities and how we respond to the circumstances we find ourselves in ultimately dictates how much happiness and magic there truly can be in our own lives.

Cinderella, choreographed by Conny Mathôt, is originally commissioned by Ballet San Antonio for Ballet San Antonio and will have its world premiere at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts on October 14, 2022.
