El Nacimiento - The Birth of San Antonio

El Nacimiento – The Birth of San Antonio is an educational entertainment presenting the rich history of the city’s beginnings through music, dance, and drama, an “EDUTAINMENT” of the origins of San Antonio presented by the four founding community groups of San Antonio! 

This thrilling presentation, which will begin with an impressive procession into Main Plaza from the Spanish Governor’s Palace, will allow those representing Native Americans, Spanish Presidio Soldiers, Spanish Friars, and the Canary Islanders to provide a gift of storytelling about their ancestors during the Spanish colonial era genesis of what is now San Antonio.

This the event is free, open to the public, and family friendly. Since our presentation occurs outdoors at Main Plaza, we encourage everyone to bring a chair. Event begins promptly at 1:30 p.m. in front of the front doors of San Fernando Cathedral.
