MEGA CORAZON 2022 Brings San Antonio Spoken Word

Celebrating a hybrid San Antonio poetic tradition that combines street, classical, and slam performance styles, Mega Corazón is frontal, improvisational, at times painful, and often choreographed for a highly visual impact.

This year’s MEGA CORAZON premiers April 4, 2022 at 10 am CST with two Distinct Shows which will run throughout the Month of April.

EVERY Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in April from 10 am to 10 pm:

MEGA CORAZON’s “Poetry for Young Adults”, designed specifically as a FREE Cultural Enhancement resource for Middle and High Schools. Content is geared toward students in English, Creative Writing, Fine Art classes in Theatre, Music, Dance, Visual Arts and Media. Performances for Middle and High School students are designed for in-class or at-home-viewing

EVERY Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday in April from 10 am to 10 pm:

MEGA CORAZON: Performance Poetry Marathon for true lovers of performance and poetry. Featured Poets include nationally recognized poetry slam champions Amalia Ortiz, Anthony “The Poet” Flores, and Andrea “Vocab” Sanderson; National Poetry Month SA organizer Jim LaVilla-Havelin, Eduardo Garza, Our Lady of the Lake Professor Octavio Quintanilla, Natalia Trevino, Marisol Cortez, and many other talented San Antonio poets.
