More than 200 artists submitted their work for the San Antonio Art League & Museum’s 93rd Annual Juried Art exhibition – setting the stage for one of the Alamo City’s foremost arts events. Hailing from San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Marcos, Corpus Christi and other Texas cities, this diverse and talented group submitted 552 works of art for this year’s juried show. And beginning April 2, 64 selected works will go on display at the King William-area museum, where $13,000 in prizes will be awarded.
The Opening Reception for the 93rd Juried Art Show is Sunday, April 2, from 3 to 5 pm at SAALM, 130 King William St. in the historic King William District of San Antonio. The awards will be given at the reception in various categories and to honor past SAALM members. This includes the prestigious Onderdonk Purchase Prize Award of $3,000, named for the esteemed San Antonio artist, Julian Onderdonk.
The juried exhibition is free and open to the public from April 2 through June 3. Museum hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10 am to 3 pm. The museum is always free. The exhibition’s corporate sponsors include Enterprise Holdings, H-E-B, Herweck’s Art Supply, Art Gallery Prudencia, and Frost Bank.
