The Conquistador Opera

Full length ‘immersive’ opera called The Conquistador, about the life of Hernán Cortés. The opera will explore Cortés’s encounters with Montezuma II in Tenochtitlan, his relationship with La Malinche and how he used her to overtake the Aztec Empire. More importantly the opera will cast a lens on how Cortés’s conquests had an effect on our modern day civilization by exploring topics such as colonization, ethnicities, language, culture and more. This project is supported by the San Antonio Arts & Culture Department.
