Todos Agua pays homage to the wisdom of our ancestors, who established their settlements and communities throughout the Americas in prehispanic times, guided by the intrinsic knowledge of water, birds, and animals. Water has always been a source of life, sustenance, and spiritual significance, and this festival aims to honor and celebrate its importance in our lives. Through music, art, and cultural expressions, we come together to pay homage to our roots, connect with our ancestors, and deepen our understanding of the sacred bond between water, all forms of life, and humanity.
For the first night, Friday, March 22nd, we have curated a diverse lineup of local talent, including renowned poets Carmen Tafolla, Andrea Sanderson, and Eduardo Garza, all hailing from San Antonio. And adding to the cultural tapestry, we have musicians from various backgrounds: Ceiba Ili is joining us from Honduras, Mazatl Cihuatl, a two-spirit American Indigenous woman with roots in Mexica and Chichimeca heritage, Juan Cabrera from Paraguay and Los Hermanos Bonifacio, representing the vibrant Garifuna culture of Honduras through their soulful rhythms. The night will also feature the artwork of Mauro De La Tierra, who will showcase his talent through live painting and previous work, and Greg Harman, a multimedia journalist and the founder and editor of Deceleration News, a bioregional journal of environmental justice that covers topics such as climate change, public health, water policy, biodiversity, and renewable energy!
The second night, Saturday, March 23rd, will have our headliner, Julian Herreros Rivera, performing a captivating solo concert. Julian’s magnetic stage presence and poignant lyrics promise to enchant the audience, creating an unforgettable experience for all in attendance.
On the third and final night of the festival, Sunday, March 24th, the festival will begin with a cacao ceremony led by Diana Dos Santos, offering attendees an immersive experience to connect with nature and each other. Following this serene start, Julian Herreros Rivera and Azul will come together to weave a musical journey celebrating water and the beauty of Latin American folk music. With her deep roots in Mexican culture and a passion for blending traditional melodies with contemporary sounds, Azul is excited to join Julian in creating an enchanting fusion of rhythms and melodies. Together, they will pay homage to the sacredness of water and their shared cultural heritage, inviting the audience to embark on a musical adventure filled with emotion and connection.
