I am an award-winning photographer, a visual anthropologist, and formerly an Associate Professor of Practice (Photography). I taught for seven years at Northern Arizona University and was the head of the department. My work spans a 20+ year commercial and fine art photographic career.
My 2010 film, Cowboys: East Germany, Rebels of the Vogtland, examines a subculture in the former East of Germany and is distributed by Alexander St. Videos of London, England, for education. The Wittliff Collections at Texas State San Marcos collect the Cowboys: East Germany photography work. The Texas Folklife Gallery in Austin, TX, hosted a solo show of the Cowboys for a six-month run. They have also been exhibited at the Leipzig Gallery for Modern Art and PLAY Hamburg.
Other works collected and exhibited include my 9/11 work, managed by the Monroe Gallery of Photography in Santa Fe, NM, and by the 911 Museum in New York City, as well as my series of singular, lost workers gloves. My commercial portfolio includes diverse clients such as Cadillac, Ritz-Carlton, IBM, and Quicken. I base my studio practice in San Antonio, TX.

Artist Statement of Work
Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):
I use photography to examine the socio-cultural landscape and am a trained visual anthropologist (USC 2010, MVA). I utilize the tools of that discipline to better inform my work. I examine daily life's psychological strains and interactions, photographing people, places, and objects. The created landscape and the inhabitants therein underlie my motivations, and photography best suits my storytelling.
