Federico Chávez-Blanco is a prolific composer who has worked on a wide range of projects in film, television, and stage. He has composed music and done sound design for more than 2,400 chapters of TV series for major networks like NBC, Univision, BBC, Telemundo, and PBS, as well as for film festivals worldwide.

One of Federico’s notable works is the Mariachi Musical Cenicienta, which combines Hispanic family tradition with the story of Cinderella. This work pays homage to Mexican culture and celebrates the importance of family in Hispanic communities.

Federico has also received numerous commissions for his work, including from the City of San Antonio for the SA300 San Antonio Tricentennial Celebration in 2018. His music for this event is now part of the Witte Mayor 300 Witte Museum’s permanent collection. He has also composed a contemporary Ballet suite called “Cosmovision,” which blends pre-Hispanic and contemporary folk instrumentation with Nahua readings and Electronica. This piece premiered at a VIP event for the Americans for the Arts (AFTA) convention in June 2012.

Federico’s work has been recognized with awards and accolades, including the Best Composer award at the West Hollywood Film Festival. He has also served as a member and panelist/adjudicator for organizations like NALAC (National Association of Latino Arts and Culture) and NALIP (National Association of Latino Independent Producers).

Through my music, I hope to build bridges between different communities and promote understanding and empathy across cultural divides. I am inspired by the diversity of human experience and the many ways in which music can help us connect with one another, across differences of language, nationality, and belief. My work is grounded in a deep sense of respect for the power and beauty of diverse cultural traditions. Whether I am creating new music or reinterpreting existing works, I strive to honor the rich legacies of the past while also exploring new possibilities for expression and connection.
